Book Writing Tip of the Week

Finish Fast, Finish Strong!

After you have outlined or structured your book with the repeating elements in each chapter, create a template which will form the basis of each chapter.

For longer books, you should create a separate template file named after each chapter. i.e. “03 chapter passion points.” For shorter books, I just create separate pages for each chapter.

Something in human nature causes us to start slacking off at our moment of greatest accomplishment. As you become successful, you will need a great deal of self-discipline not to lose your sense of balance, humility, and commitment." --Ross Perot

7 Ways to Accelerate Your Book Sales With An Ezine!

This may come as a surprise... but email marketing is still
working for thousands of online marketers. A newsletter is a
great way to stay in regular contact with your web visitors
and develop them into potential customers.

Have you been looking for a way to connect with a fresh
group of potential clients/customers? If you can entice your
website visitors to subscribe to your newsletter, they
instantly become potential customers. With your newsletter
you can stay in regular contact, build relationship,
establish creditability, become a trusted expert and open
opportunities for them to buy from you over and over again.

So where do you begin with developing your own newsletter?
Follow these simple seven steps to increase sales
opportunities with your own newsletter and subscriber lists:

1. Avoid Spamming.

Obey the regulations of the Anti-Spam law. Never send spam
(unsolicited email or unwanted emails.) Make the net a
better place, operate your opt-in (permission based)
newsletter giving your readers full control over whether
they subscribe or unsubscribe. Every email newsletter,
promotion, or informative email should contain a link to
unsubscription opportunity.

2. Choose a professional newsletter for inspiration.

Choose a professional newsletter that inspires you. I am not
encouraging plagiarism (copying word for word) but merely
creative inspiration. Examine their method of doing things
like layout, categories, even how many times they publish.

If you use something word for word respect another's
copyright don't forget to ask. Most don't mind your
respectful use of their work for it intensifies their
business/product exposure. If you still feel uncomfortable
emulating another's work choose a completely different
field's newsletter that you admire to be inspired by.

3. Develop a Plan.

Devising a plan will save you time in the long run. A plan
will give you organization and focus to amplify your voice.
As with anything, you write much more powerful and effective copy if you have focus...

Scribe's Corner

Write your book to help one targeted audience...

Here's another quick word about your book's targeted audience. Some things are worth repeating and elaborating on. We have settled the fact that not everyone wants your book. But there is a community of people in your field waiting for you to solve their problem. Think about it. What problems does your message solve for them?

Develop an audience profile (picture) and keep it in front of you as you write. That way you can visualize a real person to solve problems for. Though 78% market is women who buy books, choosing an audience of women is not narrow enough. Chicken Soup for Mothers, Chicken Soup For The Teenager, For The Prisoner and other specific groups sold way more
copies than the original Chicken Soup.
