Book Writing Tip of the Week:

Looking for book ideas, article ideas? Don’t forget to mine your background.

As you look for ideas, don’t leave out reviewing your work history and/or volunteer history and create another list. Note any boards you have served on. Examine the associations and organizations you have been a member of over the years.

Organize this one by employer, client, and organization. Examine every job, client and task. Think about things you learned. What mistakes did you observe? What procedures did you learn? What were the pros and cons of the relationship? Examine all successes and failures. What were any lessons learned? Make a note of what you feel you gained from each experience with a job, client or organization.
