Book Writing Tip of the Week:

Publish Your Print Book as an E-book.

You will receive your advance and royalties from your original book. But everyone that knows anything about traditional publishing knows you will receive only a few cents on the dollar.

With e-books, you can create and sell directly from your website at full selling price. So as you excerpt portions and repackage your book, always look for ways to develop topics you can sell yourself.

For example, an author has written 7 Steps to Operating a Successful Home Business. There are several e-book topic directions the author could follow:

• Market Segments. The author could direct e-books to specific markets, i.e. stay-at-home moms who own a home business, Successful Home Business Solutions for Stay-At-Home Moms or For Dummies. Another target market could be Successful Home Business Solutions for Medical Professionals.

• Economic Trends. The author could consider creating an annual update based on economic conditions, i.e. Home Business Solutions During a Recession, Home Business Solutions When Times are Tight.
