Book Writing Tip of the Week: Engage Your Reader Add value and interest to your chapters by including other engagement tools. Sprinkle interesting ways for your reader to interact with your material. For example, include worksheets, note sheets and lists to engage your readers and make them an active participant. Your engagement tool can be as simple as a set of review questions at the end of each chapter to encourage thoughtful reflections of the points covered in the chapter. Checklist and worksheets are the two most common engagement tools. Checklists provide a framework for readers to answer questions, define their goals and identify available resources.
